Leading Change 2020 | Blue Economy: An Ocean of Opportunities?

The annual thought leadership event of BNP Paribas CIB, Leading Change, took place on 6 November, in Portugal. “Blue Economy: An Ocean of Opportunities?” was the theme of this year´s edition, focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by the economy of the seas and  adopting a virtual setting supported by cutting edge technology.

Counting with the presence of Craig Leeson, BNP Paribas Global Sustainability Partner, the event presented a roundtable of leading professionals working on different businesses lines connected with the economy of the seas, moderated by Pierre Rousseau, BNP Paribas Strategic Advisor for Sustainable Business Solutions. The conference closed with a special message from Peter Thomson, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean, having been broadcasted live for CIB clients around the world.

BNP Paribas wants to actively participate in ocean conservation, contributing particularly to the attainment of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 14 – Life below water. Thus, this event is, once again, a living statement of BNP Paribas’ commitment in promoting a model of sustainable economic development, increasingly respecting the environment.
