  • As a Business Researcher, you will go beyond traditional research delivery, taking on a central role in building, structuring and scaling knowledge across the organisation. You will act as a trusted advisor to internal clients, contribute actively to sector‑level expertise, and leverage advanced research tools and AI‑enabled solutions to continuously enhance the Investment Banking (IB) Research & Insights’s value proposition – helping to structure, scale and monetise the bank’s collective intelligence

Your Main Activities Are

  • Deliver high-value, complex information research across sectors, companies, markets and macroeconomic themes to support Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), strategy and pitch activities
  • Act as a thought partner to bankers, helping refine business questions, challenge assumptions and shape research approaches
  • Translate structured and unstructured data into clear insights tailored to junior and senior stakeholders
  • Support the development of sector-focused expertise, aligning with Investment Banking and M&A teams and priority industries
  • Support the creation, structuring and maintenance of knowledge repositories, including sector and industry overviews, thematic research, curated precedent materials, etc

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Management, Finance, Information Sciences, Information Management, Business or Marketing Intelligence, or related fields
  • Professional experience in business research, knowledge management, consulting, or financial services
  • Genuine interest in Investment Banking, along with a solid curiosity of economics, finance, and various industry sectors

  • Transaction Banking is one of the main CIB – Global Banking business line at the heart of BNP Paribas strategy. Be part of our dynamic International Financial Performance Oversight (IFPO) team! Within the international markets finance perimeter, you will elaborate and optimize the financial risks management through the deployment / update of the second line of defense internal control framework, in accordance with the existing regulations and BNP Paribas Group Finance / Risk internal control guidelines.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Contribute to the efficiency of the finance activities and controls of the international entities’ finance departments, by performing check & challenge review missions, issuing recommendations and proposing action plans;
  • Coordinate and oversee the management of the Finance second line of defense teams on the international markets’ perimeter;
  • Contribute to the optimization of the financial risks management through the deployment / update of the second line of defense internal control framework. The perimeter to be covered is Management Accounting at central and international level, in accordance with existing regulations and Finance / Risk internal control guidelines.
  • Ensure the review (following a risk-based approach) of the finance processes in order to identify, follow-up, and assess financial risks;

Our Insurance Accounting department is responsible for insurance accounting data in multi-standards as well as guarantors of fair taxation.

As an accountant, you will be in charge of several missions whose main objective is to guarantee accounting data in FGAAP and IFRS: day-to-day activity, accounting justifications, Balance Sheet and Income Statement analysis.

YOUR FUTURE MISSION IN THE ACCOUNTING TEAM

Your key responsibilities will be:

1. Day to day activity

  • Analysis and justification of accounts on a perimeter for which you will be responsible
  • Audit trail formalization and documentation
  • Ensure exchanges with contributors and stakeholders to obtain input
  • Perform analyses and report conclusions
  • Propose changes and monitor their implementation

2.    Quarterly closing in local GAAP and IFRS

About the Job

  • Within Prime Services, our Risk Management team plays a critical role in managing portfolio risk and determining the amount of leverage we can offer clients. We work closely with other areas within the business, including sales, securities lending, and client management, as well as with transversal teams such as Credit Risk Management and Exposure Management Group. Our team in Lisbon provides critical support to the desk in managing client financing risk for the business.

Your Main Activities Are

  • Assess and review portfolio risk, identifying changes in client strategies and asset mixes to determine if margining methodologies need updates
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of changes in client portfolios, cost of funding, business mix, interest rates, and currency mix on risk and pricing
  • Analyze and report on major swings in client portfolios, escalating concerns to management

Your key responsibilities will be:

    • Participation in the quarterly IFRS closing activities mainly for French perimeter, such as: 
      • Second review of financial appendices. 
      • Consolidated packages analytical review. 
      • Financial assets review (IFRS 13 Fair Value Measurement). 
    • Data quality issues support for Shared Reporting Space (Group’s platform used to receive and distribute reporting data).
    • Meeting with several departments on process improvement, during the interclosing period.
    • Report to the Head of consolidation on the tasks you are covering as part of the Consolidation Department

In concrete terms, your daily life

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will use data analytical and visualization techniques to solve business issues in different geographies:

  • You will be able to produce and optimize data analytics models/tools
  • Together with the development team you will ensure high-level of scalability for our engines and ensure code optimization (RAM, cores, any IT resource) to have light engines

  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, consistency and completeness of information sent to the regulator to reflect the correct firm market activity

Your Main Activities Are

  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and exhaustiveness of the trade reporting by performing a close monitoring (in-house and external systems) of transactions reported
  • Tackle operational rejections for all jurisdictions by analyzing and resubmitting them when required

  • In a constant and evolving environment, financial institutions and Regulators are increasingly concerned about Cyber Security
  • In this context, clients regularly check on our Cyber security best practices, sending us detailed questionnaires and requesting relevant evidence
  • To maintain client’s confidence and avoid sanctions from regulators, the CIB Due Diligence Officer will be responsible for giving a relevant and comprehensive response to these solicitations
  • The CIB Due Diligence Officer will support businesses in their outgoing requests for proposals when seeking potential partnerships or new service providers. Using standard BNPP assessment questionnaires, they will provide Business stakeholders with a level of confidence regarding ability of potential candidates to fulfil BNPPARIBAS requirements (that will be typically subsequently assessed via CIB Architecture, Third party and Cloud governance)
  • In addition, this role will support the vendor due diligence program by reviewing assessments completed in Spanish and Portuguese for appropriate language and completeness of work product

Your Main Activities Are

  • Manage the completion of client due diligence questionnaires in native language (English, Portuguese, or Spanish), championing consistency and standardisation across all regions and platforms
  • Act as primary point of contact for incoming clients, prospects, and regulatory requests from Regional CISO (and/or delegates)
  • Respond to client inquiries, including RFP, client questionnaires, and client audits, and ensure timely and accurate follow-up in native language (English, Portuguese, or Spanish) sent from Regional CISO (and/or delegates)

  • Respond to Regional CISO (and/or delegates) questions related to clients and providers contract clauses related to cyber security

  • Provide monthly and quarterly metrics/trend analysis reports to various levels of leadership based upon the trends observed over the review period
