In practice, your day-to-day

  • The Model Performance team has a key role to play in the development of a strong risk management framework for the BNP Paribas Group. As a prominent international banking institution and a leader in the Eurozone, BNP Paribas is relying on internal models to assess risks arising from its business activities.  
  • In this context, BNP Paribas is subject to stringent regulatory requirements on the assessment of the performance of internal rating and risk estimation systems.  
  • By integrating the Model Performance Lisbon team, you will work in a best-in-class team responsible for assessing the performance of BNP Paribas internal models and thus contributing to meet ECB regulatory requirements. 
  • In this role, your primary responsibility will be to conduct backtesting activities focused on credit risk and provision models, i.e. testing the predictive capacity of the models on historical data.

Your Main Activities Are

  • Contribute to the production of Retail and Non-retail backtesting on PD (Probability of Default), EAD/CCF (Exposure At Default) and LGD (Loss given default) risk parameters through different stages: data collection, database construction, backtesting production, report preparation 
  • Contribute to the production of the backtesting ECB templates 
  • Contribute to the production of the backtesting shortcuts 
  • Participate in transversal projects related to provisioning and credit risk models performance assessment 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing tools and processes 
  • Ensure adequate documentation in line with Group documentation standards

  • Within the RISK Global Framework department, the Model Performance (MP) team develops and maintains the Model Performance Assessment methodology of internal rating models on the Basel credit risk parameters (PD, LGD, EAD / CCF) including the relevant ad-hoc criteria measuring the performance. 
  • The team carries out many other studies and participates in various transverse projects: improvement of the backtesting methodology and process, industrialization of tools, remediation projects… 
  • Due to growing demands from European regulator/supervisor, the model performance team is carrying out studies that are becoming increasingly important.

  • BNP Paribas Securities Services is the bank for financial institutions, handling operational transactions linked to their securities accounts.   • ITO Department of CIB Global Market deals with documentation and operational management of securities issues by BNP Paribas Issuance BV, dedicated to CIB GM and supporting sales teams located mainly in Europe. The documentation mandate consists mainly of the final terms and supporting documents, which will be drafted according to templates issued by LEGAL. Issuance Operations consist of pre-trade tasks (ISIN code activation, data reconciliation, agent’s information)

Your Main Activities Are

  • Prepare documentation of issues on underlying equities, indices, BNPP proprietary indices, commodities, currencies, and ETF. The documentation consists mainly of the final terms and supporting documents which will be drafted according to templates issued by LEGAL
  • Review and validate certain documents automatically generated by Front Office systems (Universal drafter, FISH, TEP Studio)
  • Ensuring the consistency of programme documentation with the terms and templates drafted by LEGAL
  • Take over the formalities for depositing documentation of structured securities issues with market authorities, financial agents, quotation exchanges or clearing systems
  • Ensure administrative formalities (e.g. drafting notices) in connection with events affecting securities issues (issuing call events, corporate actions, increases, adjustments, etc.), in accordance with the procedures and templates established by LEGAL; Adjust internal databases following these events

  • This position will have a specific focus on the investor protection risks. About the Team 

  • Global Markets Regulatory Permanent Control is part of the Chief Conduct and Control Office and also operates in all regions with the primary objective of strengthening the front to end internal control set up for GM, designing the operational risk cartography and driving the operational risk regulatory capital.

The department is organized around 3 streams:

– Operational Risk Practice: contribute to protect the business, such as Profit and Loss (P&L) and reputation

The team is mainly focused on our REPO and Securities Lending business, providing not only internal support to our business desks, but also to our clients.   • The KYC Data Officer’s primary focus is to gather client data and documentation to construct a KYC (Know Your Client) file to support the due diligence assessment of prospective and existing clients

Your Main Activities Are

  • Responsible for the preparation of onboarding and recertification of KYC process, such as understand the purpose of each request and explain the process to the client
  • Ensure the onboarding and recertification requests in the systems and create ownership structure and list related persons
