About the job
- The mission of RISK is to provide Senior Management of the Group and of the Operating Divisions, with full transparency and dynamic analysis of the risk and clients managed by Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and Investment Solutions (IS) business units. RISK contributes to the definition of the Group’s risk appetite, its risk decision-making process and the optimization of capital allocation to support the development of the Operating Divisions
- RISK Systems team is part of RISK. Its mission consists in providing the Bank with a comprehensive capital markets risk system used to calculate market and counterparty risk capital figures using advanced methods and to support the needs of users for risk analysis, risk reporting and the credit process. In this context, RISK Systems Operations team is a global team responsible for the production of market and counterparty risk metrics to the RISK function
- Operations team is in charge of functional support on market and counterparty risk systems of the bank. The team in Portugal is focusing in particular on the quality aspects of the data that feeds those systems: ensuring data quality issues are resolved, putting in place meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) about data quality, reviewing and improving existing processes and KPIs, and assisting on the preparation of material for committees where those KPIs are discussed
- The mission of Operations team is met by:
- Ensuring clients and Senior management have a clear vision of the quality of the services provided by Operation teams, thanks to the production of meaningful KPIs about our main services
- Resolution of incidents related to data quality, what regularly involves investigation and coordination with other teams
- Running, streamlining, documenting existing processes and improving them once we detect any opportunities to do so

Your Main Activities Are
- Work on Data quality aspects, putting in place Key Performance and monitoring Indicators about the availability and quality of the data in our systems, and maintaining these KPIs

- The Counterparty Risk Monitoring Officer’s mission is to monitor counterparty risk exposures on BNPP’s CIB clients, to ensure such risks stays within BNPP’s own risk appetite. The mission of RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”) is to provide the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Global Markets (“GM”) and of Securities and Services with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, valuation and liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB and of credit risks on Financial Institutions in order to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring.
The Digital team within RISK MFI review processes and develops light IT solutions to automate the many risk management processes and analysis dashboards of the RISK MFI department.
Each project is undertaken in a predefined environment and withing specific guidelines built in coordination with the RISK IT department.
There is a strong focus in improving the user experience and exploiting efficiently and timely the vast amount of available data.
An understanding of the risk management purpose behind those processes is therefore key.
Past projects have focused on automation of processes in Python, app development with interactive visualisations, BOT development, APIs, etc.
The role encompasses the maintenance and support of existing tools, taking the lead on new developments, the close collaboration with the risk managers to shape an efficient visualisation of the data and related workflow of decisions.
The Digital team works in close collaboration with the RISK IT department, making sure best coding practices are followed. It allows for a smooth the path to production of the tools developed by the team. For many projects, the Digital team directly codes in the official production systems under the guidance of RISK IT colleagues.
The team uses a variety of technologies but specialises in Python, with some exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
The team is based in London, Lisbon and Porto and operates following Agile principles . The team works alongside around 500 people focusing on Market, Counterparty and Liquidity risk topics.
