Department Overview:

BNPP Group Personal Data Protection framework, defined to respond to applicable privacy regulations throughout BNPP territories, relies on the accountability of teams within BNPP entities in their processing of Personal Data (customer, employees, UBOs, representatives of corporate, vendors, etc.)

Data Protection Office (DPO) is part of the RISK Department within BNP Paribas, positioned in the 2nd Line of Defence. Integrated within the Iberian Centre of Excellence, the DPC must assist the Business Line DPO and contribute to supervise the compliance with data protection regulations and Group policies and guidelines, oversighting/ensure the control framework, and give the necessary guidance/advice to support the 1st Line of Defence.

The 1st Line of Defence (Business, IT and CDO), managing the operations, has the responsibility to embed data protection regulations and Group policies and guidelines in the internal organization, processes and tools/assets (e.g. IT, DB’s, contracts, etc.) within its perimeter (e.g. privacy by design, PIA, security measures, etc.)

ABOUT THE JOB:

Mission and Responsibilities

As the second line of defence, you will ensure the robustness of the Personal Data Protection and Operational Risk and Permanent Control (ROPC) framework and its alignment with the Group’s standards through the main following actions:

  • Contribute to role development by validating data protection requirements for new activities, new products, services or specific operations, and to carry technical assistance
  • Ensure data protection requirements are taken into account into projects (privacy by design)   
  • Receive, process and advise internal and external local solicitations about data protection
  • Contribute to perform risk assessment on personal data breaches  
  • Risk & Control Self-Assessment review and control plan challenge (regarding Privacy risks)
  • Check & challenge the Data Protection and Privacy control framework to ensure the relevance and proper execution of the controls implemented/executed by the 1st Line of Defence (business, IT, data management, etc)
  • Assess and advise the incidents with impact/linked with Data Protection and Privacy risks
  • Verify and assess the implementation of recommendations and action plans to mitigate Privacy risks, notably identified by internal assessments (internal audit, control functions) or external supervision missions (regulators).

Experience Required:

  • More than 3 years of effective professional experience combined with at least one successful experience in a position related to internal control (e.g. DPC, Privacy leader, Operational Permanent Control Officer, Auditor, or other)
  • Know how to bring concrete and operational solutions according to business, as to take hindsight and a measured look.
  • English Fluent mandatory 
  • French and Spanish is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise on operational risk and permanent/internal control is required
  • Knowledge and interest for Data Protections and Privacy subject

This role operates under direction from line manager to support the Financing and Collateral area.

This role focuses on the global management, development, delivery, maintenance and support of Research’s cross-asset analytics software libraries:

  • Development and implementation of quantitative methodologies to be used for market risk measurement
  • Development and adaptation of existing methodologies in order to be used to measure capital add-ons associated to non-modellable risk factors and standard calculations
  • Maintain, co-ordinate and enhance development environment, communication, tests and best practices

  • Development, delivery and support of tools based on Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives Research’s analytics libraries

This requires a strong and permanent cooperation with other quantitative developers and analysts, as well as with the trading desks and the Global Markets IT division to ensure all quant developments integrate optimally with the IT ecosystem, thereby ensuring the best deliveries to the business.

Your Main Activities Are

  • Maintain and enhance pricing analytics, co-ordinate and share knowledge with quants in other locations, improve interfaces, optimise code, follow the team’s best practices.
  • Develop, test, deliver and support tools based on analytics libraries
  • As and when needed liaise with relevant internal functions such as various teams in the IT Department and Market Risk
  • Help the bank adapt to new regulations and capital charges by providing tools to estimate their impacts

  • Participate to the development of pricing models and tools for initial margin computation and its cost of funding
  • Participate to the joint development of the platform for regulatory /XVA/Financing side, and the Front office platform 
  • Contribution to the development of the team analytics library
  • Contribution to the development of the global quantitative library used for valuations and risks of BNP Paribas Global Market Books
  • Design innovative and performant analytic approaches for XVA, Regulatory, and Financing computations
  • Design and implement new pricing, risk management tools and methodologies, and improve the existing ones 
  • Support the desks on issues related to prices and trades
  • Hands on C++, C# and python coding of new features in the system with an emphasis on well tested, high quality code which is performant when required

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Masters or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Physics or Engineering
  • Interest in how financial markets and instruments work
  • Analytical mind set with attention to details
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language
  • Fluency in English

It will be a nice plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of one class of financial instruments: Equity, FX, Interest Rates, Credit or OTC derivatives

Global Markets Quantitative Research and Engineering (GMQRE) is a highly motivated team of financial engineers and computer scientists based in Lisbon and Porto, researching and performing quantitative engineering on diverse cross asset topics in equity, interest rates, credit, FX and XVA.

  • In the EMEA Finance organization, the Subject Matter Streams – Capital Markets Products (SMS-CMP) department ensure an accurate, reliable and comprehensive set of segmented financial data required for the production of all Reporting streams in relation with Capital Markets Business Lines

Your Main Activities Are

  • Officer will be in charge of the production (monthly and if needed weekly and daily) and controls of the Liquidity indicators (LCR, NSFR,…) and of all Balance Sheet metrics (Leverage ratio, GSIB indicators, Single Resolution Fund,…) based on Front-Office data

  • Develop analysis tools to assist all stakeholders in the management of liquidity and balance sheet by GBL
  • Answer to any ad-hoc query from Finance, Global Markets ALMT, ALMT Head Office or Regulator (ECB)
  • Support during the reconciliation process between front office and accounting data

  • The IT C++ trainee mission is to contribute to the functional and application related consistency of the IT solution and ensure the service continuity and continuous development.   • BNPP Wealth Management Business Management team is looking to expand in Portugal. This is a very interesting opportunity to join the growing PIMH family as Business and Client Services officer for Business Management Department
  • The role involves providing functional and operational support to Front-Office users, training them on various systems, and facilitating communication and exchange with other departments (IT, Operations, Finance). Como Data Protection Specialist irás coordenar e organizar iniciativas para assegurar a proteção dos dados pessoais tendo em conta a regulamentação RGPD e a estratégia definida pelo Grupo e pelo Central.

Terás como principais responsabilidades:

  •  Contribuir para a implementação dos princípios e regulamentação RGDP, com base na estratégia do Grupo e local, contribuindo desta forma para proteção dos dados pessoais na entidade
  • Contribuir para a realização dos assessments Data
  • Assegurar a existência e atualização dos ROPAS (Record of Processing Activities) existentes em PF Portugal 
  • Utilizar as ferramentas para a gestão do tratamento dos dados pessoais e apoia os diversos departamentos envolvidos na sua gestão e utilização.
  • Assegurar o cumprimento do circuito de tratamento dos incidentes de dados pessoais (Personal Data Breaches), nomeadamente o seu registo, report e seguimento.
  • Realizar os reportes e controlos de 1º nível necessários ao acompanhamento da atividade tanto localmente como para o Central relativos a data protection
  • Interagir com os vários stakeholders, nomeadamente departamentos como a Segurança IT e Jurídico, OPCs, bem como DPC/DPO para questões de proteção de dados.

  • The position is a Quantitative Analyst role in the Valuation Adjustments team within RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”)

    RISK MFI provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions in order to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring.

    The RISK MFI Valuation Adjustments stream is at the core of the valuation control chain of BNPP’s trading activities. It is responsible for the valuation adjustments methodologies on Fair Value, on Prudent Value and on Independent Price Verification from their design, maintenance, implementation, regular calibration, analysis, monitoring and reporting.

    The Valuation Adjustment team works within an Agile framework.

Your Main Activities Are

  • Integrating more data into the calibration methodologies and contributing to methodology improvements as a result.

  • The regular calibration of Valuation Adjustments methodologies from trading data and the analysis of financial impacts 

  • The monthly computation, analysis, reporting and sign-off of monthly Valuation Adjustments methodology outputs and providing visibility on intra-month evolution. 

  • Contribute to the design of new methodologies based on proper quantitative analysis using historical data and simulation. 

  • Contribute to the development of automated solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of the team processes, leveraging high industrialization standards from internal IT teams.  

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders of the team among trading, market risk managers, Quant Research, Finance, and developers and operational analysts of RISK Systems. 

Role Competencies

  • The Cash Transfers Team Leader will manage team resources while supervising responsibilities handled by the team to guarantee the smooth functioning of the activity.
