About the job
- The Finance Capital Markets Products Controller mission is to ensure the reliability, sincerity, integrity and the exhaustiveness of the accounting delivered by the upstreams chains (Front to Back) and organisation (Operations – Back and Middle Office). This position works within the BNP Paribas’ GECD business that encompasses research, structuring, trading and sales of equity, index and fund derivatives
Your Main Activities Are
- Ensure the accounting control level one on a dedicated perimeter of products within your team and ensure proper justification on all accounting control, among which is reconciliation with operations data inventory and reconciliation of sensitives accounts
- Analyse breaks and operational or financial risks, as well as monitoring and follow-up of discrepancies resolution and manage escalations to the management if needed
- Ensure a good collaboration with all partners and animate the relation by anticipating any know issues (pre-closing), as well as ensure fluid communication during closing period and formalize issues and present them in order to avoid them next time (post-closing)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the control set-up and ensure permanent evolutions are realized in order to avoid manual adjustment
- Formalization of team procedures and operating guides, which include: participation of training and coaching for new joiners; formalization of on-boarding materials; and active participation in management and department staff meetings
- Contribute or lead projects related to the efficiency of the processes and systems, as well as propose new developments or improvements in the existing chain, in order to secure the processes and reduce the operational risk
- Contribute to the Finance Arbitrage major project: replacement of the current General Ledger CODA with the Group Ledger OFS and assist on other Business & regulatory projects, which include: contribute to OFS project during the different phases (requirements/testing/shadow production/controls); participate to the training on the new tools and processes with OFS; and assist and control on Other Business & Regulatory projects in collaboration with the project team (participation to requirements/testing/specific control post migration or go-live)
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance and/or Accounting

Become our new International Financial Reporting Controller based in Porto
Be part of our dynamic International Financial Control Team (IFC), in charge of the production of the financial statements, but not only, with a permanent care for transversality with the other departments or Services of the Accounting Division (e.g. France Accounting, Consolidation) or the other Finance Divisions of BNP PARIBAS CARDIF Group.
YOUR FUTURE MISSION IN THE IFC TEAM
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Ensure that the IFRS consolidation package is delivered within the fixed delays and in accordance with the applicable regulation and standards;
- Guarantee the reliability of the reporting processes;
- Reinforce the production of the various exhibits and financial appendices within the Group;
- Guarantee a regular reporting on your activities to your team and Manager (IFC);

- The position is a Counterparty Risk Analyst role in the Exposure Model team within RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”)
- RISK MFI provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring
- The Exposure Model team is one of the teams of the RISK MFI CAR entity
- RISK MFI CAR acts as a centre of expertise for counterparty risk metrics contributing to the production, analysis, and anticipation of all Global Market counterparty risks
- The Exposure Model team is dedicated to the production, control, communication, and analysis of Internal Model and regulatory counterparty risk metrics. The team works within an Agile environment and framework
Your Main Activities Are
- Analysis of counterparty risk metrics:
- Evaluation of the performance of counterparty risk pricers
- proposals for improvements to the representation of counterparty risk in the systems in partnership with the other teams of the department.
- Maintenance of the methodological documentation of any adjustments to the metrics
- Evaluation of the impact on metrics induced by changes on the counterparty risk models and pricers
- Regulatory topics:
- Analysis of the recommendations addressed by supervisors and implementation of solutions for their closure
- response to ad-hoc requests from our supervisors
- and production of reports intended to them
- Reporting / committees:
- Participation in the committees related to monitoring counterparty risk, its pricers, the management of the data used for counterparty risk management
- Actions and follow-up of points agreed for remediations during those committees
- “Run the bank”:
- Participation in the counterparty risk capital calculation quarterly process
- Support to Front Office traders for simulating the impact of new transactions on the counterparty risk profile
- Adjustments of counterparty risk metrics
- Monthly certification of the counterparty risk metrics’ quality
- Analysing and monitoring the core metrics of counterparty risk across all clients trading derivatives products on the various asset classes with the Global Market business of BNP Paribas
- Regular interactions with Front Office to explain the various Counterparty Risk Internal Model metrics and collaborate around improvement proposals
- Coordinating with different RISK teams (Market Risk, RISK Systems, etc..) to ensure continuous metrics data quality
- Some regular interaction with the Credit Officer teams
Profile and Skills to Success
- Master’s Degree in Finance / Applied Mathematics Sciences / Engineering or related
- Up to 2 years of experience in Risk and Controls / Data Analytics or similar
- Advanced level of English, both written and oral
- Knowledge of light programming language as R or Python
- Ability to integrate information from diverse sources, often involving large amounts of information
- Ability to ensure the precision, accuracy and thoroughness of the information manipulated or delivered

About the Team
- Within Global Markets, Global Credit is responsible for the primary (new issuance) and secondary trading of corporate (fins and non-fins) debt and related instruments such as CDS, indices, options and structured products. It comprises different roles such as syndicate, debt capital markets, trading, sales, structuring and Credit360 which includes desk analysts and desk strategists.
- The Credit360 team is part of Global Credit and is responsible for the in-depth fundamental credit analysis of corporates and sectors, monitoring of trading risk, generation of trade ideas, marketing of trade ideas and views on the market to institutional investors via regular write-ups.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Work as a strategist within the Global Credit Strategy team (Lisbon, London and New York), producing research on the Credit Market:
- Macro, technical and fundamental analysis of sectors and asset classes across the credit market
- Generation of trade ideas, macro and credit research themes
- Write research notes in cooperation with the other strategists in the team
- Develop analytics to support and enhance the trade idea generation process
- Use economics and macro knowledge to approach credit strategy analytically by developing new and using existing frameworks
- Collaborate on marketing efforts liaising with clients, trading and sales

Within the RISK Operational Risk Management (RISK ORM) department, the Operational Risk Senior Officer contributes to the implementation of all the components of Operational Risk & Permanent Control Framework in BNP Paribas CIB activities, providing supervision over the 1st Line of Defence in terms of Operational Risk.
The department is responsible for independently challenging and supervising the Operational Risk management of CIB activities (Global Banking, Global Markets, Securities Services, Information Technology (IT), Operations and Functions) on a worldwide scope.
Your Main Activities Are
As a Transversal Tax Operational Risk Senior Officer (ORO) in RISK ORM CIB & Functions EMEA, you will:
- Supervise Transversal Tax processes that are part of RISK ORM supervision perimeter (tax watch, tax advice, tax audits / litigations and tax returns / payment) within CIB Tax departments in EMEA:
- Liaise with different stakeholders involved in the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) implementation: Group Tax Department, RISK ORM and other Control Functions (Compliance, Finance & Strategy)
- Ensure the alignment of the ORMF within CIB Tax departments with the Group standard
- Ensure the global coverage of Tax processes within CIB Tax departments (cartography, deployment follow-up, consolidation and reporting, …)

Profile and Skills to Success
- Successful studies in economics, business administration, economics, engineering or similar subjects
- Professional experience (>5 yrs) in an equivalent position or as internal control actor (Operational Permanent Controller in a Business Line or a Function, Audit / Inspection Générale)
