BNP Paribas is reinforcing its structural significance and impact on the Portuguese economy and society, a milestone marked today, June 23, with the official opening of its new EXEO Office Hub in Lisbon.

With over 9,700 employees in Portugal and an 8% annual growth rate since the beginning of the decade, BNP Paribas is on track to exceed 10,000 employees by year-end, with more than 500 open positions currently available. This rapid expansion positions the Group as one of the country’s leading employers and a key player in attracting highly qualified talent.

Beyond its role as a major employer, BNP Paribas’ financial impact is reflected in Portugal’s economic balance. The Group operates 10 companies in the country -including Arval, BNP Paribas Asset Management, BNP Paribas Cardif, BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking, BNP Paribas Factor, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, BNP Paribas Personal Finance (Cetelem), BNP Paribas Real Estate, FLOA, and Nickel – contributing directly to the national economy. Additionally, BNP Paribas Portugal hosts 11 centers of expertise, which are integral to the Group’s global model, delivering high-value services worldwide.

Over the past two years, the Group has achieved an average annual growth rate of 9% in service exports from Portugal. From a macroeconomic perspective, BNP Paribas’ operations in Portugal accounted for 1% of the country’s total service exports in 2025.
