About the job

  • The Credit Operations Manager mission is to manage all the Credit Operations activity in Portugal in the most efficient way, closely liasing with all the other onshore credit teams and assuring a perfect alignment between all in all the credit chain

Your Main Activities Are

  • Manage and supervise Team Managers, solve escalated issues and report incidents. Additionally, define together with them the necessary support for daily activities, validating resource allocation and training according to the activity evolution
  • Define and implement short and mid-term strategy and follow overall project plans, budget structure and staffing requirements
  • Ensure that Control Plan and Procedures are dully applied, by being able to explain discrepancies and take necessary actions to match with yearly budget and department goals. Additionally, ensure that the activity is delivered to a high quality standard
  • Define plan and follow improvement actions with Heads of Operations and Organisation, so that Department efficiency is improved. Additonally, to be accountable for financial aspects by preparing and managing yearly budget and following invoicing aspects
  • Manage and promote good relationships between department and stakeholders, representing it in all internal and external interactions Additionally, raise department constraints and needs whenever necessary
  • Perform regular reviews on BAU action plans and other Projects, as well as reviews on processes in order to ensure that all processes are standard, comprehensive, useful, and known by all users. Additionally, perform risk area review with Operational Permanent Control (OPC)
  • Initiate discussions over possible synergies, new activities, volumes and workload, with all possible metrics that could help containing and reducing the Department invoice. Additionally, implement discussions and actions on incidents, corrective actions and objectives, as well as ensuring relevant and regular communication to all affiliated sites and and that all SLA signed with the affiliated sites are fulfilled in all aspects (KPI, costs, etc.) and updated
  • Ensure the delivery of contract obligations as documented in the Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Contribute to Human Resources Department missions definition and assessment, as well as contribute to its development by detecting and promoting talent, managing the delegation of power to the appropriate officers, being involved in the professional development of employees and creating and promoting employee engagement and retention, employee growth and development and rewards schemes for the entire process
  • Set an example by developing team work and sharing information in order to improve department efficiency

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • From 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in Banking and Financial Operations
  • Fluent (C1-C2) level of English
  • Critical thinking

  • Ability to inspire others & generate people’s commitment
  • Ability to anticipate business / strategic evolution
  • Knowledge of risk management
