About the job

  • We are looking for a Team Leader to lead the Corporate actions team, for Voluntary and SRD2 events, within the Operations Department working in BNP Paribas (Lisbon) SA
  • Corporate actions management will be performed for 4 banks of the Group: Switzerland, Monaco, Luxemburg and Germany

Your Main Activities Are

  • The role of the person is to manage, monitor and control that all voluntary corporate actions, SRD2 directive and handling of general meetings instructions for participations and votes are handled satisfactory, within the required deadlines
  • The person will have the responsibility for the activity and manage her/his team. Leadership, expertise, rigour, very high resistance to stress, as well as cooperation and respect, are important traits within the team. The person will need good communication skills, as the team will work directly with people from other Operational Services and Departments, with the WM Business and the middle office of the bank clients
  • Manage the Corporate actions Team / Voluntary events
    • Organise and distribute workload
    • Ensure risks are managed and escalate any issue to the hierarchy
    • Manage team members and ensure team continuity (staffing, evaluations, hiring, stability, commitment, training, among others)
    • Perform monthly controls and communicate with local hierarchy and Swiss, Monaco, Luxemburg and German management and middle offices
  • Analysis and understanding of the notifications received by the custodians
  • Proceed with the writing and the transmission of letters produced to the attention of the underlying clients, in four languages (French, English, German, Italian)
  • Instruct, within the defined deadline, any instruction received from our clients
  • Guarantee the correct and timely booking of the transactions on the clients ‘accounts
  • Respect strictly the internal procedures and deadlines
  • Analysis and understanding of the notifications of general meetings
  • Proceed with the consecutive writing and the transmission of letters produced to the attention of the underlying clients, in four languages (French, English, German, Italian)
  • Instruct, within the defined deadline, any instruction received from our clients (in case of participation or vote)
  • Transmit to the client banks, acting as nominee, all the notifications received within the context of “shareholder disclosure

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Financial academic background
  • At least 5 years of Corporate Actions Experience
  • Knowledge  in Banking and Securities
  • Knowledge in Banking & Financial Services
  • Knowledge in Securities operations and custody
  • Experience with MT Swift messages
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in Swift tools and Banking Applications
  • Ability to develop and adapt a process
  • Analytical ability
