Banco Cetelem is established in Portugal since 1993 and operates within three different markets.

Commerce. Banco Cetelem has established partnership with more than 6500 stores throughout Continental Portugal , Madeira and Azoresislands. Banco Cetelem provides online credit approval for stores customers, mainly in House Appliances Stores and Superstores, Super and Hypermarkets.

Automobile. Banco Cetelem provides credit solutions to more than 600 Dealers for both new and used cars sales.

Direct Sales. Banco Cetelem offers a wide range of financial solutions to private customers (Personal loans, credit cards) through Internet or Telephone.

With more than 300 employees in Lisbon and Oporto, Banco Cetelem manages 350 000 active customers for a total of more than EUR 500 millions of outstanding loans.

BNP Factor

BNP Factor was established in Portugal in 1987 by decision of its main shareholder, Banque Nationale de Paris, one of the largest European Banks. It was the third factoring company to operate on the Portuguese market and the first one to join Factors Chain International (FCI). FCI co-ordinates the common action of 90 factoring companies developing their activities all over the world and co-operating each other as a global network.

BNP Factor developed its own IT system, adapted to the local market and capable to provide its clients with efficient, clear and rapid on-line information related with their needs. This system also allows complying with all credit control requirements. BNP Factor has been innovator on default risk assumption, and is in the top of the list of Portuguese factoring companies.

The factoring consists in the sale by a company (adherent) of its commercial credit portfolio to a factoring company (BNP Factor) which deals with the collection and payment of this portfolio, assuming thus the risk of default of the debtors, and eventually finances the corresponding credits.
Factoring operations can be made with or without recourse vis-à-vis the selling company (adherent).
